3rd ALPHA MISSION - ΔELOS
Global Gathering
3 & 4 June 2023
Around 70 participants from across science, education, space technology, the arts, environmental studies, philosophy, and inner development joined the 3rd ALPHA MISSION – ΔELOS Global Gathering to explore how interdisciplinary collaboration can help address the complex challenges facing life on Earth, drawing inspiration from the island of Delos’ deep cultural and symbolic heritage.
The dialogues moved from reflections on lessons from the past to the articulation of a shared global mission for the present and future. Conversations brought together perspectives on ethics, planetary awareness, education, innovation, and interconnected thinking, highlighting the need to integrate scientific knowledge with cultural, philosophical, and creative approaches.
A central dimension of the gathering was the role of art as a universal connector, highlighted through a powerful live performance of “Peaux” from Pleiades by Iannis Xenakis, performed by the percussion ensemble TYPANA at the Terrace of the Lions on Delos. The event concluded with forward-looking reflections on emerging generations and the importance of reimagining learning and work in a time of global transformation.
